How to build intelligent music systems out of interacting audio-processing agents.

We are developing new audio technologies for future interactive media applications. These range from automatic sensing of features in existing audio content to extremely compact representations of sound for efficient transmission and control in a networked future.

Musicpainter

Our Work at a Glance

MusicPainter is an educational environment which suggests that composing is as easy as painting. It creates a simple mapping between the canvas and a score: the horizontal axis represents time and the vertical axis is bound to a musical scale. By relating composing to painting, we can compose by placing bricks on a planar space.
