How ubiquitous, personalized interfaces can be responsive to our actions and expand our minds.

The goal of the Ambient Intelligence research group is to radically rethink the ways we interact with the digital world by designing interfaces that are more intuitive, more intelligent, and better integrated in our daily physical lives. We investigate ways to augment the everyday objects and spaces around us, making them responsive to our attention and actions. The resulting augmented environments offer opportunities for learning and interaction and ultimately for enriching our lives.

What We're Looking For

Applicants who ideally are:

  • creative, inventive, and full of (radical) ideas
  • "hackers," who like to build/make things (using several media)
  • independent workers, but also good team players
  • strong technical people (with backgrounds in programming and sensors/hardware)
  • interested in and knowledgable about human-computer interaction

A background/interest in artificial intelligence, cognitive science, design, arts, or entertainment is a plus.

ReachMedia

Our Work at a Glance
