It is vital to take time to reflect, make meaning and test assumptions that we have about the world. In my research at MIT, I am learning how digital technology can play an integral role in this process.

Before the Lab...

Shaundra received bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and the Florida State University College of Engineering. Among her many hobbies, Shaundra enjoys working with kids using technology, tutoring, and dance; however, she’s most proud of being mother to Layla.

At the Lab...

Shaundra is designing computational technologies that enable people to analyze themselves and develop an empathetic eye toward others. Her broad research endeavors include computational tools for reflective learning, engineering education, and affective computing. She's very interested in designing technologies that enable people to reflect on their beliefs, values, and attitudes.
