My grandfather taught me: If mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy. Before the Lab...Hayes received a BA in fine arts (sculpture) from Yale, helped design and develop the award-winning ZOOB building system, and ran his own art and design studio in California. Hayes has earned several internationally recognized design awards and shown his art in Europe and the United States. He enjoys cooking, sailing, making toys, and spending time with his family. At the Lab...Hayes, a practicing artist and designer, creates interactive toys, systems, and devices that engage people’s touch to improve communication, education, and artistic expression. Projects at the Lab have included Jabberstamp, Sound of Touch, and Topobo 3-D. |
