Information for all applicants
- Deadline: December 15 for the following fall semester
- Online applications only: choose Media Arts and Sciences from department menu.
- GREs not required
- Incomplete applications will not be considered. Principal components include statement of objectives (including links to online portfolio if required), official transcripts from past attended universities, and three recommendation letters.
- Application must list up to five, and no less than three, faculty members/research groups with whom you'd like to work; include this information in the "areas of research or interdisciplinary program" field, and list faculty names at the beginning of statement of objective.
- Interviews are by invitation only after application submission.
- All students in Media Arts and Sciences are currently fully funded (tuition/medical insurance and stipend).
- Coursework requirements depend on your research group—there is no "core curriculum."
- MIT's most current course catalogue is available online.
